Portable Radiological Instruments

Electronic Calibration

MJW Technical Services offers a "State-of –the-Art" calibration facility staffed with experienced technicians capable of repairing and calibrating any make and model of radiological detection instrumentation.

Repair estimates are offered at no cost and repair and modification charges are based on material plus labor costs.

When an instrument needs repair, once we have determined the problem we will call with an estimated cost of repair before it is completed. If an instrument is sent for recalibration and a problem arises that requires repair we will call for authorization before any repair is completed.

Standard Calibration

Count Rate / Dose Rate
  • As found readings
  • Two points per range (up to 4 ranges)
  • A single probe and one efficiency (Tc-99 or Pu-239)(CountRate)
  • NIST traceable sources
  • ANSI N323 and ISO 17025 compliant
(more detail)The Count Rate calibration is performed using a NIST traceable calibrated electronic pulser. A single efficiency is then determined for either TC-99 or Pu-239 per customer request. If no customer request is made, instrument efficiency will be determined for Tc-99.

The Dose Rate calibration is performed using a NIST traceable Cs-137 source to provide an exposure rate.
